On 1 July 2018, Dr Elsie Chin, CEO of Cambridge English For Life Sdn. Bhd. revealed the new Mandarin For Life language programme during a festive launch at Nicsmann 1940s By Lewré, The Starling in Damansara Uptown. It is Malaysia’s first introduction to a play-based approach to teaching Mandarin Chinese, or Standard Chinese, coined learn through play and play to learn.
The Mandarin For Life programme includes two courses, Junior Mandarin and Young Learners Mandarin. Combined, the courses offer continuity from age four onwards. Junior Mandarin is a one-level course suitable for early learners of ages four and five. The six levels offered in the Young Learners Mandarin course prepares students for each of the four levels of the world-renowned Youth Chinese Test (YCT) exams. Learning is made fun throughout the programme with the introduction of play-based learning. Skilled teachers carefully and deliberately plan games, songs, role-plays and other interactive activities to help students learn Mandarin in a way that is meaningful and enjoyable to them.
Mandarin For Life will be rolled out nationwide from September 2018. Contact the nearest CEFL centre for further details.
